Pick the Perfect Towel for your needs!

GSM is to towels what a thread count is to bed linen. GSM refers to the fabric weight and density of your towel in grams-per-square-meter.

A towel with a higher GSM measurement is thicker and plusher than one with a low GSM, meaning it can absorb more water due to the higher pile and is usually made from a more luxurious type of cotton.

Higher GSM Towels also more durable, which can prove to be an important consideration for hotel owners.

Frequently asked questions

Is it important to wash a new towel before the first use?

Yes, it is always a good idea to wash new towels before use because new towels may be coated in a waxy fabric softener. Also, washing new towels before use will open up the fibres increasing its absorbent capability. New towels also tend to shed excess fluff, so washing them before use will help prevent the towel from leaving lint all over you.

how long do you take to prepare and ship the products to our hotel/business

We ship our products (via surface courier / transport) based on customer's request.

If required urgently, we use Surface Courier which can become a little expensive but a fast means of transportation. However, if you require the cost-effective way to get your products delivered, we can ship the products through Cargo Transport.

Should you use fabric softener on towel

Many experts advise against using silicon-based fabric softeners and conditions on your towels. Over time, these products can build up on the fibres, causing the towels to become less absorbent or develop a musty odour.

How often should towels be washed?

How often you clean your towels is a personal preference, but under normal circumstances, a towel can be used three or four times (not days) before it needs to be washed.

How should I wash the towels?

While you can wash your towels in cold water, Sohum experts recommend the occasional deep wash on a warm to hot cycle at 40-60 degrees to remove any bacteria, oils and smells.

Avoid overcrowding the machine as this may reduce the effectiveness of the wash and prevent the detergent from being rinsed out completely.

Should I look for coloured towels or opt for white towels for my hotels

Using White Towels for your Hotel is highly recommended for a number of reasons. For a start, there’s no risk that white towels will clash with the colour scheme of the rooms, but more importantly white towels suggest cleanliness. White towels have no dye compared to coloured towels, which helps them to stay fluffy and absorbent for a longer time. Plus white colours are less likely to fade, so look newer for a longer time.

When should I replace the towels in my hotel with a new set?

It’s an ongoing process. Towels are used, laundered, and it should be a routine for the staff to check the standards of the the towel before putting it back. Some towels get stolen, some get stained, and some simply wear out. Stained and worn ones need to be pulled out of circulation immediately. Thus, depending on the circumstances, one must ensure that a set minimum inventory of towels is maintained at all times to carry on the business.
